Exclusive Two-Piece Better Together Set
Pairing the Birds Beak knife with the Round Strop from the Better Together range
The long blade of the Birds Beak knife and an open grip will cause the knife to follow a line, as opposed to being influenced by a short blade and choked grip, it is surprising how much the movements of our hand effects the cut when we are moving it.
The long curve also lends itself surprisingly well to freehand cutting, think of the needle of a record player following the groove of the record. It just would not work if we applied too much force.
The Birds Beak knife is Ideally sharpened on a round strop with compound
The round strop is a new innovation by Nigel Armitage and has been specifically designed to hone to perfection the curved blades.
The Round strops are turned here in the factory in Sheffield out of of sustainably sourced British Beech.
