George Barnsley and Sons Stitching Clam
The George Barnsley Stitching Clam is made from British Ash, every step of the clams production is done here in the Factory in Kellam Island, Sheffield. With our new custom built “Steam room" every clam is steamed and pressed by hand.
Hand sanded and then finished with Mineral Oil bringing out the woods natural luster while having a 'smooth to touch' finish ensuring the clam does not snag your leather while in use. Each arm is covered with leather, with a hidden magnet on both sides to hold your needles while working.
The clam is 44 inches in length, the perfect height to hold between the knees or attach to your work bench.
The clam is held together with brass screws, there is also a stained beech handle to adjust the tension of the clam. The clam has a brass disc on the arm with the George Barnsley and Sons logo engraved.

brought as an update to the basic ebay Stitching pony I have been using for a while now.
From a stepup from a sit on pony to a clam is a learning curve but well worth putting the "short" time in to figure out the best position to either stand/sit in.
came well packed, looked good out of the box, no issues with the presentation of the clam.
overall use is great, grips well and adjusts easily.
again, looks good, works exactly as expected , well pleased with this purchase
Used my stitching clamp over the weekend. It raised a lot of interest.
